So far, we found very little information about Carmel. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

Carmel would have been located within present day LaPorte County<2>.

When the people of Carmel referred to themselves (known as a demonym), they are believed to have used Carmelite<3>

While the community is gone, the present day location for Carmel is 750 feet [229 m] above sea level.<4>.
