Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Virgil had an population of 327 people. This is a decrease of 0.61% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 22.93% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Virgil had a population of 329 people. This makes Virgil the county's 23rd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 329 people, the population of Virgil increased 23.68% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 266 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Virgil was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Virgil post office opened in 1893.
