Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Alma had an population of 306 people. This is a decrease of 4.38% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 20.73% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Alma had a population of 320 people. This makes Alma the county's 10th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 320 people, the population of Alma decreased 17.1% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 386 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Alma was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

From that list, the Alma post office opened in 1855.

We also found Alma in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
