Valley County was founded in 1917. Valley was created by taking area from Boise and Idaho Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Valley had a population of 11,392 people. This is an increase of 16.39% since the last Census (which gave a population of 9,788 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Valley represented 0.62% of the total population of Idaho.
