Welcome to Vega ...

So far, we found very little information about Vega. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Vega to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Vega - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Vega, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Vega , we believe that it would have been located within present day Henry County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Vega, you might consider that their post office opened in 1851.

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are 11 communities that are also named Vega - they are located in Alberta, California (2), Georgia, Kansas, Michigan, New York, Ohio, South Dakota, Texas and Washington.

Adding Vega to Our Gazetteer ...

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Vega was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Vega post office opened in 1851.

We also found Vega in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
