Welcome to Ola ...

So far, we found very little information about Ola. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Ola to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Ola - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Ola, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Ola , we believe that it would have been located within present day Lucas County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Ola, you might consider that their post office opened in 1867.

Time Zone: The area where Ola was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

If Ola still existed, it would have been in the (641) area code.

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are 10 communities that are also named Ola - they are located in Arkansas, California, Georgia, Idaho, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina (2), South Dakota and Texas.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Ola was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Ola post office opened in 1867.

We also found Ola in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
