So far, we found very little information about Muchakinock. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Muchakinock to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. While we don't have the exact location of Muchakinock , we believe that it would have been located within present day Mahaska County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Muchakinock, you might consider that their post office opened in 1886.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Muchakinock was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Muchakinock post office opened in 1886.

We also found Muchakinock in the book titled Sixth Biennial Report of the State Mine Inspectors, Two Years Ending June 30, 1893.
