Welcome to Higginsport ...

So far, we found very little information about Higginsport. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Higginsport to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. While we don't have the exact location of Higginsport , we believe that it would have been located within present day Jackson County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Higginsport, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1837.

Time Zone: The area where Higginsport was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

Adding Higginsport to Our Gazetteer ...

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Higginsport was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Higginsport post office opened in 1837.

We also found Higginsport in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
