While we don't have the exact location of Griffinsville , we believe that it would have been located within present day Appanoose County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Griffinsville, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1868.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Griffinsville was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Griffinsville post office opened in 1868.

We also found Griffinsville in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
