From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Eveland was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<5>

From that list, the Eveland post office opened in 1883.

We also found Eveland in the book titled Sixth Biennial Report of the State Mine Inspectors, Two Years Ending June 30, 1893.
