While our initial data about East Peru came from various goverment sources (GNIS, US Census, FIPS), we also found mention of East Peru in various books, maps and other sources. When we find a mention, a fact or snippet, we add that information to our Gazetter.

East Peru is contained in a comprehensive list of Post Offices that was created by Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<1>

From that list:

The East Peru post office opened in 1888 and had closed by 1920.
