So far, we found very little information about Blakeville. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

While we don't have the exact location of Blakeville , we believe that it would have been located within present day Black Hawk County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Blakeville, you might consider that their post office opened in 1856.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Blakeville was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Blakeville post office opened in 1856.

We also found Blakeville in the book titled Iowa State Gazetteer (1865).
