Welcome to Youngs ...

So far, we found very little information about Youngs. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Youngs to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Youngs - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Youngs, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Youngs , we believe that it would have been located within present day Hall County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Youngs, you might get a feel for it by knowing that during our research the earliest mention that we found (so far) was on a map dated 1855.

Time Zone: The area where Youngs was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time

Youngs would have been located in the (770) area code.

Communities Also Named Youngs ...

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are two Georgia communities named Youngs: This one is located in Hall County and the other is located in Polk County.

Beyond Georgia, there are 9 communities that are also named Youngs - they are located in Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, New York (2), Ohio, South Carolina and Virginia.

Adding Youngs to Our Gazetteer ...

As we work on our Gazetteer, we occasionally find mention of a community that is new to us. When we find such a community, we add it to our Gazetteer with the hope of adding more information in the future.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Youngs was on a map (with an unknown title) dated 1855.

Footnotes ...

<1>We use the term 'Historic' broadly and it generally means that the community no longer exists. However, it can also mean that the community might still exist, but was significantly larger or had a more 'official' existence in the past than it does now. Unfortunately our sources of data have proven to be unreliable. If you can provide us with more specific information about Youngs, please let us know so that we can improve our accuracy.
<2>If you're interested in how the shape of Georgia's counties, including Hall, have changed over time, we recommend the Atlas of Historical County Boundaries.
