So far, we found very little information about Talasee. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

Talasee would have been located within present day Jackson County<2>.


The location of Talasee has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3>


While we don't have a date for the founding of Talasee, you might get a feel for it by knowing that during our research the earliest mention that we found (so far) was in a book dated 1895.

From the  Census Estimates for 2019, Talasee has a population of 848 people<4> (see below for details).

While the community is gone, the present day location for Talasee is 760 feet [232 m] above sea level.<5>.

Time Zone: The area where Talasee was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time

If Talasee still existed, it would have been in the (706) and (762)<6> area codes.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Talasee was in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).

We also found Talasee on a map (with an unknown title) dated 1899.
