At the time of the 2010 Census, Newnan had a population of 33,039 people (or 25.95% of the total population of Coweta County). This makes Newnan the county's most populous community.

The population of Newnan represents 0.34% of the total population of Georgia (which has 9,687,653 people), making it the state's 21st most populous community.
