The location of Mayberry has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Mayberry, you might get a feel for it by knowing that during our research the earliest mention that we found (so far) was on a map dated 1915. While the community is gone, the present day location for Mayberry is 230 feet [70 m] above sea level.<4>. Time Zone: The area where Mayberry was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time If Mayberry still existed, it would have been in the (478) area code.
