Jenkins County was founded in 1905. Jenkins was created by taking area from Bulloch, Burke, Emanuel and Screven Counties. From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Jenkins had a population of 8,676 people. This is an increase of 4.28% since the last Census (which gave a population of 8,320 people in 2010).
