Welcome to Auraria ...

So far, we found very little information about Auraria. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

Auraria would have been located within present day Lumpkin County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Auraria, you might consider that their post office opened in 1841.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Auraria is 1,400 feet [427 m] above sea level.<3>.

Time Zone: The area where Auraria was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found (so far) for Auraria was on a map (with an unknown title) dated 1834.
