A Gazetteer for the United States and Canada
Welcome to Aid ...
Although we found mention of Aid during our research, we have little information about it.<1> Given the context of how Aid was mentioned, we believe that it was a community rather than a locale or some type of landmark. We have done a cursory search and if it was a community, we haven't been able to find any evidence that it still exists..
While we are confident that Aid was located in Franklin County, we don't know its actual location within the county.
We've added Aid to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Aid - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Aid, please Contact Us.
Time Zone: The area where we believe that Aid might be (or was) located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time
We believe that Aid would be found within the (706) and (762)<2> area codes.
Communities Also Named Aid ...
Using our Gazetteer, we have found that there are 2 communities that are also named Aid - they are located in Missouri and Ohio.

Adding Aid to Our Gazetteer ...
We originally found mention of Aid in the FIPS-55 file. For more information, see the Referenced FIPS Codes section on our Miscellaneous Page.
In addition, our notes show that the earliest dated mention that we've found for Aid was on a map (with an unknown title) dated 1899.
We also found Aid on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Georgia (1911).
For more details about the above, see References and Mentions for Aid on our Genealogy Page.
