At the time of the 2010 Census, Wellington had a population of 56,508 people. This makes Wellington the county's 5th most populous community.

The population of Wellington represents 0.3% of the population of Florida (which has 18,801,310 people), making it the state's 43rd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 56,508 people, the population of Wellington increased 47.86% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 38,216 people).
