Fort Jupiter would have been located within present day Palm Beach County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Fort Jupiter, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1855.

As we work on our Gazetteer, we occasionally find mention of a community that is new to us. When we find such a community, we add it to our Gazetteer with the hope of adding more information in the future.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Fort Jupiter was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<4>

From that list, the Fort Jupiter post office opened in 1855.
