Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Clearwater had an population of 116,946 people. This is an increase of 8.6% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 7.5% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Clearwater had a population of 107,685 people (which is 11.75% of the total population of Pinellas County). This makes Clearwater the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Clearwater represents 0.57% of the total population of Florida (which has 18,801,310 people), making it the state's 16th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 107,685 people, the population of Clearwater decreased 1.01% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 108,787 people).
