From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Clearwater was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Clearwater post office opened in 1906.

We also found Clearwater mentioned on a train schedule titled New York Central Railroad Time Table (April 1950).
