At the time of the 2010 Census, Boca Raton had a population of 84,392 people (or 6.39% of the total population of Palm Beach County). This makes Boca Raton the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Boca Raton represents 0.45% of the total population of Florida (which has 18,801,310 people), making it the state's 27th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 84,392 people, the population of Boca Raton increased 12.88% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 74,764 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Boca Raton was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Boca Raton post office opened in 1923.
