Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Houston had an population of 406 people. This is an increase of 8.56% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 5.58% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Houston had a population of 374 people. This makes Houston the county's 10th most populous community.

The population of Houston represents 0.04% of the population of Delaware (which has 897,934 people), making it the state's 41st most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 374 people, the population of Houston decreased 13.02% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 430 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Houston was on a map titled Map of Delaware (from Rand McNally, 1911).

We also found Houston in the book titled .<8> From that list, the Houston post office opened in 1937.
