The community of Castle Rock is the Seat for Douglas County.

Douglas County is one of the original counties of Colorado and was founded November 1, 1861.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Douglas had a population of 351,842 people. This is an increase of 23.25% since the last Census (which gave a population of 285,465 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Douglas represented 5.68% of the total population of Colorado.
