While we don't have a date for the founding of Walkermine, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1930.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Walkermine is 6,070 feet [1,850 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the altitude of Walkermine is about 1¼ mile [or ~1¾ km] above sea level.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Walkermine was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Walkermine post office opened in 1930.
