Welcome to Penrose ...

So far, we found very little information about Penrose. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Penrose to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Penrose - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Penrose, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Penrose , we believe that it would have been located within present day Ventura County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Penrose, you might consider that their post office opened in 1893.

Time Zone: The area where Penrose was located is in the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT) and observes daylight saving time

We originally found mention of Penrose in the GNIS. For more information, see the Referenced GNIS Codes section on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Penrose was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<4>

From that list, the Penrose post office opened in 1893.
