Keyesville was founded in 1854.

The origin (or the toponymy) of Keyesville: Named after Richard M. Keyes, who discovered gold in the area.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Keyesville is 2,840 feet [866 m] above sea level.<3> In other words, the altitude of Keyesville is about ½ mile above sea level.

Time Zone: The area where Keyesville was located is in the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT) and observes daylight saving time
