The origin (or the toponymy) of Johnsondale: Named after Walter S. Johnson, the chief planner for the lumbermill.
While the community is gone, the present day location for Johnsondale is 4,710 feet [1,436 m] above sea level.<3> In other words, the elevation of Johnsondale is about ¾ mile [or ~1½ km] above sea level.
