So far, we found very little information about Copper City. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

Copper City was established in 1852. The community was inundated by Lake Shasta in 1944.

The earliest source (so far) we've referenced which mentioned Copper City was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<5>

From that list, the Copper City post office opened in 1878. The Copper City post office closed in 1880.
