As we work on our Gazetteer, we occasionally find mention of a community that is new to us. When we find such a community, we add it to our Gazetteer with the hope of adding more information in the future.

The earliest source (so far) we've referenced which mentioned Bennettville was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<5>

From that list, the Bennettville post office opened in 1882. The Bennettville post office closed in 1884.
