Welcome to Turquoise ...So far, we found very little information about Turquoise. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1> We've added Turquoise to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We aren't confident of the location of Turquoise, so consider the above location as an estimate.<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Turquoise, you might consider that their post office opened in 1890. While the community is gone, the present day location for Turquoise is 4,920 feet [1,500 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the elevation of Turquoise is about 1 mile [or 1½ km] above sea level. Time Zone: The area where Turquoise was located is in the Mountain Standard Time Zone (MST) and does not observe daylight saving time Note: If you travel east from Turquoise, you will leave Mountain Standard Time and cross into the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT). In addition, you will be moving from an area that does not observe daylight saving time to one that does. The location where Turquoise once stood is in the (520) area code.
