Welcome to Troy ...So far, we found very little information about Troy. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1> We've added Troy to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. While we don't have a date for the founding of Troy, you might consider that their post office opened in 1901. When the people of Troy referred to themselves (known as a demonym), they are believed to have used Trojan<3> While the community is gone, the present day location for Troy is 3,630 feet [1,106 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the altitude of Troy is about ¾ mile [or ~1¼ km] above sea level.
