Welcome to Middlemarch ...

So far, we found very little information about Middlemarch. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Middlemarch to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Middlemarch - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Middlemarch, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Middlemarch , we believe that it would have been located within present day Cochise County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Middlemarch, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1898.

Time Zone: The area where Middlemarch was located is in the Mountain Standard Time Zone (MST) and does not observe daylight saving time

The Area Code where Middlemarch was located: 520

Communities Also Named Middlemarch ...

Using our Gazetteer, we found another community named Middlemarch - it's located in Ontario.

Adding Middlemarch to Our Gazetteer ...

As we work on our Gazetteer, we occasionally find mention of a community that is new to us. When we find such a community, we add it to our Gazetteer with the hope of adding more information in the future.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Middlemarch was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Middlemarch post office opened in 1898.

For more details, see References and Mentions for Middlemarch.

Footnotes ...

<1>We use the term 'Historic' broadly and it generally means that the community no longer exists. However, it can also mean that the community might still exist, but was significantly larger or had a more 'official' existence in the past than it does now. Unfortunately our sources of data have proven to be unreliable. If you can provide us with more specific information about Middlemarch, please let us know so that we can improve our accuracy.
<2>If you're interested in how the shape of Arizona's counties, including Cochise, have changed over time, we recommend the Atlas of Historical County Boundaries.
