Welcome to Harrisburg ...

So far, we found very little information about Harrisburg. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Harrisburg to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. While we don't have the exact location of Harrisburg , we believe that it would have been located within present day La Paz County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Harrisburg, you might consider that their post office opened in 1887.

When the people of Harrisburg referred to themselves (known as a demonym), they are believed to have used Harrisburger<3>

Time Zone: The area where Harrisburg was located is in the Mountain Standard Time Zone (MST) and does not observe daylight saving time

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are two Arizona communities named Harrisburg: This one is located in La Paz County and the other is located in Yuma County.

Adding Harrisburg to Our Gazetteer ...

As we work on our Gazetteer, we occasionally find mention of a community that is new to us. When we find such a community, we add it to our Gazetteer with the hope of adding more information in the future.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Harrisburg was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<4>

From that list, the Harrisburg post office opened in 1887.
