Welcome to Gila City ...

So far, we found very little information about Gila City. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Gila City to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Gila City - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Gila City, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Gila City , we believe that it would have been located within present day Yuma County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Gila City, you might consider that their post office opened in 1858.

Time Zone: The area where Gila City was located is in the Mountain Standard Time Zone (MST) and does not observe daylight saving time

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Gila City was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Gila City post office opened in 1858.

We also found Gila City in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
