While we don't have a date for the founding of Cedar, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1895.

Cedar is 4,450 feet [1,356 m] above sea level.<2> In other words, the elevation of Cedar is about ¾ mile [or ~1¼ km] above sea level.

Time Zone: Cedar lies in the Mountain Standard Time Zone (MST) and does not observe daylight saving time

Note: If you travel west from Cedar (for example, toward Needles (CA)), you will leave Mountain Standard Time and cross into the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT). In addition, you will be moving from an area that does not observe daylight saving time to one that does.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Cedar was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<5>
