While we don't have a date for the founding of Bonita, you might consider that their post office opened in 1884. While the community is gone, the present day location for Bonita is 4,540 feet [1,384 m] above sea level.<3> In other words, the altitude of Bonita is about ¾ mile [or ~1½ km] above sea level.
