The Atlas had details such as the population of the community (which appears to have come from the 1890 Census) and whether there was a post office and/or railroad service available. The Rand McNally Atlas shows that in 1895, Lake City had a post office and no railroad service. In 2020, Lake City had a population of 2,735 people.
