So far, we found very little information about Custer. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

Custer was located in the Arkansas Ozarks.

Custer would have been located within present day Baxter County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Custer, you might consider that their post office opened in 1908. The community was inundated by Norfork Lake.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Custer is 520 feet [158 m] above sea level.<3>.

Time Zone: The area where Custer was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found (so far) for Custer was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Custer post office opened in 1908. The Custer post office closed in 1942.
