At the time of the 2010 Census, Moody had a population of 11,726 people (or 14.03% of the total population of Saint Clair County). This makes Moody the county's 2nd most populous community.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Moody was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

From that list, the Moody post office opened in 1882.

We also found Moody in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
