Miscellaneous References and MentionsWhile our initial information about Anchorage came from various goverment sources (GNIS, US Census, FIPS), we also found mention of Anchorage in various books and other sources. We've created the following list to keep track of the sources that proved useful in adding to our knowledge about Anchorage. We hope that they will be useful to you. Note: When we started collecting data about Anchorage, we were inconsistent about keeping track of where that data came from. As a result, this list of references and mentions is probably incomplete. Anchorage is contained in a comprehensive list of Post Offices that was created by Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<1> From that list: The Anchorage post office opened in 1914.
