Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Poplar had an population of 608 people. This is an increase of 0.83% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 10.14% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Poplar had a population of 603 people. This makes Poplar the county's 16th most populous community.

The population of Poplar represents 0.01% of the total population of Wisconsin (which has 5,686,986 people), making it the state's 1320th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 603 people, the population of Poplar increased 9.24% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 552 people).

We originally found mention of Poplar in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Poplar was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Poplar post office opened in 1888.

We also found Poplar in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
