The location of Ruby has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Ruby, you might consider that their post office opened in 1880. While the community is gone, the present day location for Ruby is 1,600 feet [488 m] above sea level.<4>. Time Zone: The area where Ruby was located is in the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT) and observes daylight saving time Ruby would have been located in the (360) area code.
