How Far From Aldridge to ...
We spend a lot of time looking through Gazetteers & Almanacs that were published in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Many of the Gazetteers include the distance from a community such as Aldridge to various places of note, such as the White House.
With a nod to our favorite Gazetteers and using the location of where the historic community of Aldridge once stood, the straight-line distance beginning in Aldridge and extending to:
- Loa, which is the Seat of Wayne County, lies 31 miles [49.9 km]<1> to the west northwest. If you could walk a straight line from Aldridge to Loa, with an average speed<6> of 2.2 miles [3.5 km] per hour, it would take most of two days to make the trip. A horse and buggy averaging 3.2 miles [5.1 km] per hour would take just over a day.
- Salt Lake City, which is the State Capital of Utah, lies 176 miles [283.2 km] to the north northwest (NNW). Driving, with an average speed of 63 miles [101.4 km] per hour, would take about three hours, a buggy would take 7 days and walking would take 10 days.
- The White House (Washington, DC) is 1,827 miles [2,940.3 km] to the east northeast (ENE). Driving would take most of three days, a buggy would take 72 days and walking would take 104 days.
