At the time of the 2010 Census, New Columbus had a population of 227 people. This makes New Columbus the county's 39th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 227 people, the population of New Columbus increased 5.58% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 215 people).

We originally found mention of New Columbus in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for New Columbus was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the New Columbus post office opened in 1849.

We also found New Columbus in the book titled Table of U.S. Post Offices in the United States (Jan. 1851).
