Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Granite had an population of 1,954 people. This is a decrease of 5.38% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 5.97% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Granite had a population of 2,065 people (which is 33.1% of the total population of Greer County). This makes Granite the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Granite represents 0.06% of the total population of Oklahoma (which has 3,751,351 people), making it the state's 143rd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 2,065 people, the population of Granite increased 11.98% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 1,844 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Granite was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Granite post office opened in 1899.

We also found Granite on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Oklahoma (1911).
