At the time of the 2010 Census, Jamestown had a population of 1,993 people. This makes Jamestown the county's 7th most populous community.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Jamestown was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

From that list, the Jamestown post office opened in 1823.

We also found Jamestown in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (Oct. 1846).
