The location of Honolulu has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Honolulu, you might consider that their post office opened in 1893. While the community is gone, the present day location for Honolulu is 990 feet [302 m] above sea level.<4>. Time Zone: The area where Honolulu was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time If Honolulu still existed, it would have been in the (937) area code.
