Welcome to Carp ...

So far, we found very little information about Carp. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

Carp would have been located within present day Lincoln County<2>.



While we don't have a date for the founding of Carp, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1925.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Carp is 2,570 feet [783 m] above sea level.<3> In other words, the elevation of Carp is about ½ mile above sea level.

Time Zone: The area where Carp was located is in the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT) and observes daylight saving time

Carp would have been located in the (775) area code.

The community of Carp was previously named Cliffdale.

We originally found mention of Carp in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Carp was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Carp post office opened in 1925.
